Rhenus Logistics Sverige started in June 2003 in Gothenburg when Rhenus Freight Logistics Hilden decided to open an office as customer service point for the Volvo traffic from South Germany to Sweden. The traffic was once purely based on imports to different Volvo plants in Gothenburg.Over the year’s paper exports have been acquired successfully. Furthermore Ford routes increased outgoing volume. Rhenus Logistics Sverige AB was founded in February this year 2007. Today approximately 40 trailers are handled daily, unloading and loading on swedish territory. The whole traffic is executed with an own fleet of more than 100 Rhenus mega trailers arriving and leaving the country by ferry. The office is still small; four employees are managing the transports. But the office will grow. One short-term target is to develop the sea freight activities – using the advantage of location at Gothenburg freight port.
